Welcome To Caps For A Cause

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to increasing skin cancer awareness. We promote education on the dangers of skin cancer, risk factors, prevention and early recognition to help save lives.

Our Niche

There are several ways to protect our skin against harmful UV radiation. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends the following:

  • Seek shade and avoid direct sun exposure

  • Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher (don’t forget to reapply every 2-3 hours!)

  • Wear sun-protective clothing, including long-sleeved T-shirts and wide-brimmed hats

Caps For A Cause endorses all approaches for UV skin protection. However, sometimes seeking shade is not always possible depending on your location, and sunscreen is easily forgettable, expensive - and far too often - “Oops! I missed a spot!”  Utilizing a wide-brimmed hat offers measurable UV protection to the scalp, face, lips, neck, and ears; the most common locations skin cancers arise. [1]  And don’t forget, you’ll look good too!
