Our Niche
There are several ways to protect our skin against harmful UV radiation. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends the following:

-
Seek shade and avoid direct sun exposure
-
Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher (don’t forget to reapply every 2-3 hours!)
-
Wear sun-protective clothing, including long-sleeved T-shirts and wide-brimmed hats

Caps For A Cause endorses all approaches for UV skin protection. However, sometimes seeking shade is not always possible depending on your location, and sunscreen is easily forgettable, expensive - and far too often - “Oops! I missed a spot!” Utilizing a wide-brimmed hat offers measurable UV protection to the scalp, face, lips, neck, and ears; the most common locations skin cancers arise. [1] And don’t forget, you’ll look good too!
